Sippy Cup is the strongest form of endearment. A couple years ago, my niece Luna and her family were visiting us in Colorado for my son, Hendrix’s birthday and for New Years. Hendrix and Luna (who are about 2 weeks apart in age) got the sillies one day and kept pretending that they had secrets to tell me - but to my surprise, when I’d get closer to hear the secret, they’d tell me, “You’re a Sippy Cup!”
It was a silly game we played the whole trip, and still play each time we are all together. It usually starts out quiet and silly but soon evolves into a wild, chaotic crazy play session :). Last year when they were visiting us, I got Luna to record some vocals secretly so I could mix them in. And this past year, my son laid down his vocal tracks. My song, Sippy Cup attempts to capture the love, joy, playfulness, and chaos of our time together.

2023's #1 (unverified) kids’ Halloween track. 'Daddy Werewolf' was co-written by MrBoodaddy and his 4.5-year-old son, Hendrix. This past year, Hendrix got really curious about werewolves - how and when and why they transform from people into werewolves…if they’re friendly or not… how to stop them…why they battle vampires, etc. And his favorite holiday of all time is still Halloween + he loves it when MrBoodaddy chases him around as a werewolf. This song has some major Tool, Ozzy Osbourne, and hip-hop inspired vibes. Hooooowwwwl!!!
The unofficial official song of the summer (for kids and their parents), 'Oreo Vegan' is a tribute to the deliciousness of ice cream. MrBoodaddy wrote it from the perspective of his 4.5-year-old son, Hendrix (and his emphatic knowledge of his mommy’s favorite ice cream flavor, Oreo Vegan). This song has some major ZZ Top and hip-hop inspired flavors. It's the gluten-free neapolitan of kids summer songs.
'No Shirt Like My Daddy' is a tribute to the special bond between a kid and their Dad. MrBoodaddy wrote it from the perspective of his 4-year-old-mini-me, Hendrix. This song is all about all the ways his son wants to do things like him and be like him. Do your kids completely idolize and role model everything you do? This song has some major N.E.R.D inspired hip-hop beat and guitar vibes.
'Mama's Gonna Love It (You're So the Best)' is and ode to the amazingness and badassery of Moms everywhere, and was co-written by MrBoodaddy and his 4 year old son, Hendrix (who adores his mom more than anything and loves to do nice things for her). If Jimi Hendrix, Nicki Minaj, Carrie Underwood, and Nirvana collaborated on a song for kids, this would be it.
'Don’t Put the Baby in the Basket' is based on MrBoodaddy’s son’s experience being put into an Easter basket by his mom when he was a baby and absolutely hating it. In this song with Rage Against the Machine vibes, you and your kids will hear MrBoodaddy’s son pleading to (and warning) other moms out there to forego their desire to capture the perfect Instagram pic and keep their babies away from baskets on Easter.
For Halloween 2022, MrBoodaddy released the EP, 'Daddy Skeleton', inspired by his son's abnormal, year-round obsession with all things Halloween - and the skeleton-themed hide-&-go-seek and chase game that MrBoodaddy and his son played.
